Every paddler needs to think about the type of clothing they need. Your equipment will vary depending on the type of sport, the time of year and the type of training you do. First, you should invest in either a wetsuit, a combination of neoprene pants and paddling jacket, or a drysuit. A drysuit is fully waterproof but is not designed to keep you warm. This is ideal for a canoe trip or activities in very cold water. A wetsuit is made of rubber neoprene and is not waterproof. However, it will insulate you and keep you warm when you get wet. This is a great choice for either kayak clothing or paddleboard clothing in most conditions. We recommend looking at our NRS Hydroskin clothing here in the online store. With good insulation and quick-drying properties, this is the perfect option for active paddling. Try a mix of HydroSkin shirts and shorts/pants. The Women's HydroSkin Long-Sleeve Shirt is perfect for paddling activities that require free movement. Made from thin neoprene the shirt is designed to ensure maximum comfort. The long sleeves give you protection from both wind chill and the sun. Prolonged exposure to the sun can cause skin damage and even cancer. At the very least, you may end your paddling trip with an uncomfortable sunburn. It's best to invest in long sleeves and apply sunscreen repeatedly to exposed skin. Try pairing this shirt with the NRS HydroSkin 0.5 mm Pants. These pants are comfortable and insulated, with an outer layer of neoprene and a soft fleece lining.
Make sure you invest in good shoes before going out on the water. Many beginners start with sandals, but water shoes are the best option. Water shoes are comfortable to wear on land but are designed to be fully submerged in the water. You will find paddle shoes particularly useful for surf skiing or SUP paddling. For example, the NRS Freestyle Wetshoe is designed to sit tight enough, but at the same time provide enough room for the toes. They have glued seams against penetrating water and keep your feet warm. You can wear this shoe all day and not lose the feeling in your feet. But there are also options for people who prefer ultra-thin shoes or socks. NRS HydroSkin Socks are designed to follow the shape of your foot. They are so thin that you can even wear them with tennis shoes on a run on a rainy day.
If you paddle on a nice summer day, you may not need gloves. But for paddling in cold conditions, gloves are not only desirable but safer. Keeping your hands warm enough to control and paddle is crucial to keeping you upright. That is why you should invest in some insulating gloves. For example, these are NRS Hydroskin Gloves designed to keep your hands warm and dry. They are available for both ladies and men. The palms are designed to give maximum grip without causing fatigue. They can be attached to the push button when not in use. You never have to worry about losing one.

We currently do not deliver outside the EU. If you want to order goods from Norway, you can choose delivery to a Poste Restante address at a post office in Sweden.
Please use our online portal for returns if you want to return an item. With us, you have a 30-day right of withdrawal from the day you receive the item. The item must be in new condition. New condition means that the item is unused and undamaged. Please also return the accompanying packaging & labels. You can choose between:
- refund (or credit on the invoice)
- conversion into a gift card
- change of product
The right of withdrawal does not apply to products that are customized for a particular customer (eg canoe orders where the canoe is produced according to the customer's specifications). However, the right of withdrawal applies to products that we customize for the customer but where variants can be selected in the online store (eg mounting of wing paddles). We offer free return shipping for non-bulky packages within Sweden. For bulky goods and for orders to companies, the customer is responsible for the return shipping.
